Jennifer Gelhaus

Tennis Professional

Jennifer Gelhaus is a tennis professional with over 15 years of coaching experience in the tennis industry. Jennifer is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association and has extensive experience leading tennis programs in Tampa and the Northeast. She is also the host and creator of the Vida Tennis Podcast which is dedicated to professional development of tennis coaches, directors and leaders. 

 

While Tampa is her home base she spends her summers teaching in Martha’s Vineyard. Most recently she served as Senior Racquets Professional at the Boathouse and Field Club and prior to that she was the Director of Tennis at the East Chop Tennis Club for 3 years. Before going to Martha’s Vineyard she was the Director of Junior Tennis at the prestigious Maidstone Club in the Hamptons for 7 years. 

 

Jennifer was a tennis professional at Harbour Island Athletic Club for many years. She also taught at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club and she was the Head Tennis Coach at Hillsborough Community College where she was awarded the Regional Coach of the Year by the NJCAA and her team was a National Runner-up. 

 

Hailing from Venezuela, Jennifer's tennis journey began in college at Lincoln Memorial University, where she earned a degree in Biology while playing the sport she loves. She was recognized as one of the Top 50 Tennis Coaches in the US by the Tennis Channel in 2021. Committed to continuous personal and professional development, Jennifer recently added an RYS 200 Yoga certification to her extensive list of credentials. Aside from tennis, Jennifer is an enthusiast of other racquet sports, including Pickleball, Padel, and Beach Tennis.
